Official tumblog of BOGLEECH, the most terrifying website ever invented on the internet. You may also enjoy my artwork, my work for Cracked and my bug questions blog. You can also TALK TO ME. How are things?!

This inane propaganda makes me so damn angry, you have no idea.
Love how they made the bubbling test tube side red, like the devil, to show how harsh and mean and sinister all this “genetic” “science” must be, despite the fact that it involves working with completely natural organisms and transplanting completely natural things from one to the other in a manner no less natural than literally anything else we’ve ever done to food. Genetic modification allows us to use the elements of life itself to do things that previously required dangerous inorganic chemicals and a tremendous waste of environmental resources.
The so-called “organic” companies are obviously going to back something that makes them look good in the eyes of those gullible enough to think “organic” even has a defined meaning in the food industry.
Some of the harshest pesticides known to man qualify as “organic.” Rattlesnake venom is organic. Your shit is organic. Cancer is organic. The word “organic” could not possibly have less fucking relevance to your health.
There is evil that can be done with genetically modified foods, but there is equivalent good - just like all technology ever. Genetic modification can mean crops that grow in the most desolate, famine-stricken countries. It has potential to reduce habitat loss, reduce pollution and improve human health the world over.

You know what? The only thing that concerns me about GMO’s is the potential for some to negatively impact wildlife, especially insects. None of these idiots freaking out about them are concerned about the flies and cockroaches, of course, but that’s all they scientifically should be concerned about. Eating GMO is never going to hurt anybody ever.
