Actually, it’s not, because I don’t support and have never supported banning or criminalizing gun ownership. You just choose to put that in the mouth of anybody critical of the vile behavior of weapon advocates. Anyone who wants to own a gun for self defense or hunting should, in fact, be able to pursue that within reason.

The problem is that is that you guys only see this issue in absolutes; you think ANY regulation on guns is too much and refuse to compromise or budge an inch for fear of some “slippery slope” towards fascism, or something.

Of course, what you just quoted was written by a white social conservative, the same people who are today’s biggest advocates of “gun freedom,” the same people still making minorities feel excluded from the “liberty” they profess to advocate and the only people I have really criticized.

There is a reason the NRA is predominantly white. American gun culture has always had an intimate relationship with racism and classism.
